Chilli is the dried ripe fruit of the genus Capsicum. Capsicum annuum is an annual sub–shrub, the flowers of which are borne singly and fruits usually pendent, which provide red peppers, cayenne, paprika and chillies and sweet pepper (bell pepper) a mild form with large inflated fruits. Capsicum frutescence is a perennial chilly with small sized pods which are highly pungent. It is commonly known as ‘bird chilly’ and ‘Tabasco’.

Varieties of Dry Red chillies:

1) S17/Teja (Shu 65000-100000)

Local name: Teja

Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) – 65000 SHU to 90000 SHU depends on the area of cultivation.

ASTA – Colour value also ranges between 60- 80 ASTA again depending on the area of cultivation and season.


2) 334/S4/ Guntur Sannam ( shu 18000-30000)

Local Name: Sannam

Scoville Heat Unit (SHU)- 18000 SHU to 35000 SHU in Tamil Nadu ; 18000 SHU -35000 SHU colour a bit deep red, Andhra Pradesh; Telangana- 25000 SHU – 30000 SHU.

ASTA – Colour value of S4 variety Dried red chilli 50 ASTA to 60 ASTA.

3) 355 / Byadgi (Shu 8000-16000)

Local Name: Kadi/Bydagi

Scoville Heat Value- Bydagi variety of dried red chillies are not very pungent variety with pungency between 8000 SHU to 16000 SHU.

ASTA – This variety colour value is very high being the surface of all these varieties bigger than the Andhra Pradesh & Telangana grown chillies. ASTA between 100 to 250 .A beautiful Deep Red Colour.

The Packing is Buyer Specific regularly available in 10 Kgs/25 Kgs PP bags & 10 Kgs / 25 Kgs Jute Bags.


Red Chilli powder is obtained by crushing Red Chilli. Different varieties are obtained from different varieties of red Chilli i.e. BIRDS EYE CHILLI (DHANI), BYADAGI (KADDI), ELLACHIPUR SANNAM-S4 TYPE, GUNTUR SANNAM-S4 TYPE, HINDPUR-S7, JWALA, KASHMIR CHILLI, KANTHARI-WHITE, MADHYA PRADESH G.T.SANNAM. Dry chilly is extensively used as spice in curried dishes. It is also used as an ingredient in curry and in seasonings.

2) Red pepper Flakes (Shu 8000-90000)

Turmeric is the boiled, dried, cleaned and polished rhizomes of Curcuma longa. Turmeric is a common spice and a major ingredient in curry powder. Curcumin is a major component of turmeric. Turmeric has been put to use as a foodstuff, cosmetic, and medicine. The activities of turmeric include antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antioxidant, antiseptic, cardio protective, hepato protective, nephron protective, radio protective and digestive activities.


Turmeric powder is obtained by processing the raw turmeric. Raw turmeric is first cured by heating it for 40 – 45 minutes then it is dried in sunlight or by scientific process. After drying polishing is done and crushed to get powder form which is packed for sale. Turmeric is used in every household for preparing food. It adds taste and aroma to our food and act as anti-ageing due to presence of antioxidant.
